What do you think of my resignation letter?

Dear Mr BOSS, Please accept this letter as my notice of resignation from COMPANY, effective 31/08/2009. Thank you very much for the opportunity to work here. Sincerely, MY NAME Obviously i've removed the personal details. Too short? a year lol.

  2. I like it. Brief and to the point. Could say "please be notified by this letter of my resignation...." instead of please accept, but potAYtoe, potAHtoe. :o) It looks like you are giving them a LOT of notice. I guess just be prepared with answers (ie. deflections) for all the in-depth questions that will naturally follow in person such as why and where are you going now, etc, etc. Good luck. :)
  3. Perfect. It's straight to the point and they can't misread it. (You'd be surprised at how many bosses do!) Personally, I'd give a reason as to why you have enjoyed working there - even if you haven't, it is best to keep on good terms with ex-bosses. People always seem to know each other and you don't want to burn bridges. Also, you're under no obligation to tell anyone within the company your reasons for resigning.
