Resignation Pro

Can someone please give me a sample or a format of what a "church member resignation letter" should entail?

I will be leaving my church soon and I have a few responsibilities there so I'd like to write a resignation letter but I have no idea what it needs to say and what it doesn't. Can someone please help me?

  1. This is to let you know that I will be leaving <name of church>. Since I currently have several responsibilities, I wanted to give you some advance notice so that you can arrange to transition these responsibilities to someone else. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist in the transition. I have valued the time that I have spent at <name of church> and wish you the best of luck in the future. Sincerely, ---
  2. You could just say that you feel it's time to move on...Be as specific or non-specific as you want to be. You didn't say why your were leaving but you don't really have to. Perhaps you feel the Lord is moving you on, perhaps there's things at your church you don't agree with. Only you know the answers to that...
  3. Something along the lines of: "I cannot submit my faith either to the Pope or to the Councils, because it is clear as day they have frequently erred and contradicted each other. Unless therefore, I am convinced by the testimony of Scripture and plain reason ... I cannot and will not recant ..."
