Quit my job at target?
Okay, so I'm contemplating whether I should quit my job at Target now or not. But the thing is I'm planning to quit at the end of January which is when I have to return to school. I would rather focus on my studies at that time so I'm not going to try to get a casual/part-time job after this. I'm planning to just focus on studying. So I'm a casual at Target & I work at the cash registers. I was hired at the start of December & so far I really, really hate the job. My managers are just over all very grumpy people & my co-workers are always so miserable (so am I). I feel very disrespected there as I am also only 15 years old. Everytime I go to work, I dread it so so much. Anyway, it's not that I need the money. I just thought it was a good idea since I have a lot of free time in the holidays. So should I quit now? Because like I've mentioned before, I really hate it there. I dread going so much! Or should I wait until the end of the month when I return to school? I really, really DO want to quit now but I'm afraid I've only been there for such a short period (1 month), that it's just really stupid. Also, how do i quit? Am I suppose to hand in a resignation letter? Or do i just tell my manager & give her like a week notice?

- give her a weeks notice :D and the letter!
- You should tell your supervisor that you are returning to school at the end of January and that you will be quitting so you can focus more on your studies. Ask them what the store's policy regarding leaving work consist of and what you need to do to leave on good terms with the store. Don't just quit. Try and work up until the last week if you can tolerate it. It will be extra money for you when you return to school.
- It sounds like you really hate it alot so you should definitely quit. If you needed the money it would be different. It's only around a month until you go back to school, you should atleast go back happy. I would do all three, hand the letter to her personally and tell her you're quitting and offer the 1 week notice.
- No do not quit! Try to get fired! So you still can get payed i mean seriously even though you don't need the money, it's still good to get payed! I mean is it not? LOL!!If that doesnt work then give the manager a notice in her box.Trust me i worked there before.X P
- It depends on what you would be doing if you didn't have the job. I would say tough it out if you would just be sitting at home all day long otherwise. If you stick with it you may end up getting a positive experience out of it. I have had jobs where I wanted to quit at first, but in the end I was sooo grateful that I stuck with it. I learned a lot and I made money :) It is up to you. A month really isn't that long, but you never know; you may end up liking it after awhile.
- do not quit. i am 16 and like you i decide to quit after hating my job. i am now jobless and dying of borredom at home. so now i am trying to get rehired which is rather difficult.
- If you dislike your job you should quit for sure, make sure to do it the correct way though. You never want to burn your bridges in life as you never know when you may need to rely on them. Turn in a resignation letter to your boss, give him/her a letter that states that you are going to focus on your academic career, thank them for the great experience you have gained and give the date that you will no longer be working for the company (Generally two weeks from the time you turn in the letter). Make it very professional and courteous, Do not mention how you hate your job or anything like that. Write it so that if you were to ever need a job again your manager would think that you are a good kid and would have no problem rehiring you.
