  1. Always be nice and don't burn your bridges. Thank everyone and be gracious. You never know when you'll need them in future. The details are up to you.
  2. The resignation letter is easy - explain why you're leaving, give the date of your last day on the job, thank them for everything they have done, hope you can count on them for a reference in the future. For the farewell letter - close your eyes and imagine your best friend at work. Say goodbye to that person in your imagination, and remember what you said. That's pretty much what you want to say to the larger community as well. Be positive - be grateful for everything they have taught you (always leave on a positive note, especially in the military, you never know when you're going to run into one of these again) - be sorry to leave and you're done.
  3. Don't burn bridges. Express how much you've enjoyed your job and how much you regret having to leave. Not a bad idea to ask for a letter of recommendation at the same time so you can use it in your search for your next job.
  4. How to Write a Letter of Resignation When writing a letter of resignation, it's important to keep your resignation letter as simple, brief, and focused as possible. It should also be positive. Once you have made the decision to move on, there's no point in criticizing your employer or your job. Your letter of resignation should include information on when you are leaving. You can also let the employer know you appreciate your time with the company. Your resignation letter should include: The fact that you are leaving and date when your resignation is effective. Thanks to your employer for the opportunities you have had during your employment.
  5. All you have to do is state that you're husband is military and being transfered. Ask for a letter of recommendation to go with you so you will be able to hand deliver it to you're next job of interest.
  6. You just write a resignation letter. Dear Sir/Madam: I am submitting my resignation due to the fact of my husband relocating to another duty station effective xx/xx/2007. I want to thank you for the time that I was allowed to be employed at the company. I shall be missing everyone and good luck with your career.
