Can I send in my letter of resignation via email?

I work for a small company with two locations and I hardly ever cross paths with my manager. I talk to him on the phone daily but don't see him often. Is it ok to send in my resignation letter via email or do I need to stop in the store when I know he is working and give it to him?

1. I would stop in and hand it to him. It's much more professional.
2. I guess you could do it by email, but I think the classy and professional way would be to resign face to face.
3. Yes you can do it legally by email. but remember you will want a reference from this manager at some time - best to do it face to face - tell him, then if you want to send it in writing via email after then that is fine. Mike
