How should I write my first resignation letter? I'm 15 years old quitting my first job where I've been working for 8 months, and I'm really nervous and have no idea what to say. I tried looking up resignation example letters but they are all way too formal and dont really sound like a 15 year old's part time job. thanks in advance
is this a good example of a resignation letter? I was going to give them 2 weeks notice, but now I have heard rumors that they have already replaced me while being on suspension. I have a new job now and do not need to work with them. Is this a good example of my resignation? Any advice on how to change it? Thank you 4/27/2010 Management Place Date Dear -----, It is with reluctance that I’m submitting this letter. Although my time with ----------------, has been, on the whole, satisfying and productive, for quite a while now I have become less and less satisfied with the work situation. The direction of the company, the group in which I work, and the new targets and the methods of accomplishing them are making it increasingly difficult for me to feel that I’m contributing sufficiently. I have been working for your company for the past eight months and have given you outstanding service as you yourself have verified several times in my performance appraisal. I will admit, in the past there have been some problems with me and the correct procedures with management, which have been dealt with properly and I will say they were entirely my fault. However, I truly feel that this company no longer fits well with my personality and what I feel is important in a working environment. Therefore, it is with regret that I am informing you with this as my resignation from ---------- effective immediately (4/27/2010) Sincerely, My name
How do I write a resignation letter? I am resigning from my teaching job because my husband needs to relocate for his job. I taught there for 2 years, I was an elementary teacher. Any links or example letters that I could view to give me an idea?
Examples on writing a resignation letter? I'm planning on quitting my job because I'm moving to another town. What should I write on my letter? What's a good way to thank your boss, for hiring you and tell him how much you enjoyed working for the company? I work at Wal Mart.
Resignation letter before end of probation period? I am nearing the end of my 3-month probation period (end of June) for a new job and have decided it is not quite the right fit. I have typed an official letter of announcement of my departure however, as I have never written a resignation letter while still in the probation period, I would appreciate any tips or examples of letters for this type of circumstance, as a guideline and to ensure I am not missing anything important. Also, is it inappropriate to ask the employer if he/she would serve as a reference? Thank you.
Where can I find a good template or example of a officer resignation letter for the Army National Guard? I've served in the ARNG for more than 8 years now. Two deployments later I find myself burnt out and torn between my civilian career, my family and the National Guard. I feel if I can't dedicate my time to the ARNG, I want someone to step up in my place who does have the time and can justifiably lead soldiers. After career counseling with my commander I've reached the conclusion that I don't want to transfer into the ING and that I'm ready to resign my commission. Does anyone have a good example they've seen or used?
Resignation letter ideas? I've landed a new job (at last i'm out of this dump!), and wonder has anyone got any resignation letter ideas / examples that will ring good for many years to come.
Resignation letter while on AML? I am currently on AML, but have decided I no longer wish to return to work. Can someone please give an example of a resignation letter, I seem to only speak baby now!! Also, seeing as my daughter is not allowed in the office (H&S. Honestly) and I therefore cannot resign face to face, is it acceptable to email my resignation? Many thanks for your help.
Using floating/personal days in resignation letter? I've written a few resignation letters in my day, but I'm wondering if any has ever written/seen one where they plan on using floating/personal days as a part of their time left at the company. For example, what would be the right way to state that my last date of employment will be December 28, 2007, but the last week I will be using floating and personal days. TIA!
Writing letter or resignation, need some examples PLEASE? Does anyone have a letter of resignation they could copy and paste???? I am literally being "ran off" by the conniving form of a woman known as office manager. She has been rude to me since day one I have been nothing but smiles and "it would be my pleasure" at all times. I am going to leave 3 letters; one for her (office manager), one for my general manager and one for the owner (oblivious to the dysfunctional circus that is the office). I have no desire to use this company as a reference and am not concerned with “burning any bridges” (I have only been here 3 months). Also, I was sick on Friday and left a few hours early. When I came into the office thismorning employees informed me that she was complaining and saying that she is going to discuss firing me with the owner. I have another job I am starting in one week. She has been here for 25 years, even the GM complains about her, nothing I say will change anything, but it will make me feel better lol =) I WANT TO BE PROFESIONAL BUT AT THE SAME TIME EXPRESS MY CONCERNS
Resignation Letter....how? Hi there. I am resigning from my current job but i don't know how to write a resignation letter, and yes i am plenty old enough to know how to, but i just have never written or really seen one before. Can someone please write out an example of how it shoul be written. The most accuratly (not rushed) written entry will win 10 points. Thanks a lot for that. By the way, this is not like a MacDonalds job or something, its actually a proper full time (career) job. thank you.
How do you write a letter of resignation for a job you love? I'm leaving my job in a couple of months because my husband got a really good job across the country, so we're moving. I'm going to break the news to my boss tomorrow, but I'd also like to furnish her with a letter of resignation. I also actually really enjoy my job and will miss it, and I want to make that clear in the letter. The trouble is that I can't find any good examples of letters of resignation online; they are all geared towards people who hated their job! I would just like some ideas of how to word all of the positive things that I liked about working there. Any ideas?
How to write a job resignation letter? I've only been at my current job for 5 months, but since I started the company has changed. We have a new boss that I have a serious difference of opinions with. There is plenty of examples out there of resignation letters for leaving long term jobs, or leaving for a better position, but none for leaving because of personal disagreements. Any ideas on how to do it without being rude? Or a polite way to quit without giving a reason for leaving? I forgot to add, I got this job when I first moved into town, so it gave me the opportunity to meet people. I'd like to include that somehow as a good point.

Therefore, I am resigning at my job before having an internship in hand. Basically I need an example of a good way to explain this in my resignation letter. This is my first time resigning and I'm kind of nervous to do so. Help please? Thanx.

Help with my resignation letter? I am quitting my part time job (cashier) in a retail store, and they require that I provide a letter. I know you are supposed to be respectful and polite, however, I only worked about two months at this job, and I can no longer stand the unorganized management, and disrespect for the "lower" employees. For example, my superiors would yell at me and embarrass me in front of customers whenever I asked a simple question, as any new employee would have to... I feel that I should be able to include some of my negative experiences in this letter, after all it wasn't really a "professional" job, right? Oh, and I will not be putting this short lived job on applications, and have another job lined up, so I do not care about recommendations from this employer lol
Resignation letter for Hungry Jacks? Okay. Here's my situation. It's about my current job at Hungry Jacks *aussie version of McDonalds* I've only worked for 1 month but I really want to quit. I hate working there for starters and the management is poor. Example? There are three store managers - different each weekend. The first store manager told me I would get two weekends off in a row. Two weeks later, my other store manager tells me I am meant to be working when I was told by the other that I wasn't. Confused? So am I. Then I make my order. One of the girls (older than me) asks what I would like. I tell her I want a cheeseburger stunner deal (burger, drink, icecream and chips) and a whopper and small chips (for my mum) with no drinks. She looks at me weird and tries to get me to get another drink. I told her again that I didn't want a drink. So... is it wrong to resign after working for only 1 month at a utter shithole? And what should I say/write? I really do not want to work another shift.

How to write letter of resignation / 2 week notice? I am currently working for an employer that hasn't scheduled me for nearly enough hours over the past year that I have been employed with them. They constantly are putting me into pressuring positions where I must leave certain days open, just to find out I am NOT working - when I could have been doing other, personal events. I need to write a letter to my boss informing them that I will not be able to continue working at the company and that I will be stepping down from my position. I was a temporary employee as it is, so they will not have to search for a new hire to replace me. How should a letter like this be formatted/written/etc? Any help, with details and examples, would be great!
Leaving a job, what reason should I give in res. letter/exit interview? I have worked for my employer for almost a year. I was temporary for 3 months doing a job unrelated to my current, full-time position. Fresh out of university, I was eager for a salaried job with benefits, so I accepted and moved my life 1,000 miles from my hometown, no friends, left behind serious boyfriend. For many reasons, I will be looking for a new job once my 1-year anniversary for my full-time position is reached. My question is, since I will be leaving for personal reasons, mostly, what should I say? I will of course give ample notice before I leave, but what should I say in my resignation letter? I am certain they will ask me questions in my exit interview. I am not obligated to answer questions relating to my personal life, correct? (For example: about engagement to my bf or something) I could honestly say that while my current job has given me many new skills, it's not on my career path. There is no opportunity to advance, either. Thoughts?
I hate my job at Steak N Shake. How do I quit in a nice manner? Thank u for response!? I started a couple of weeks and I was ok with the job. Then it started getting on my nerves. The employees suck (rude and immature), my boss is a prick and I just don't feel comfortable there. I can do way better but I found this job. I looked up 2 week notice and resignation letters for example. Wanted to know how to say I quit in a nice way. Plus I'm going back to school as a full time student. It would be hard trying to do homework, sleeping and going to work. I can find a better job that can work for my schedule. Thank you reading my detail response.
Assuming resignation, is this OK? Is it OK for your employer to say that, for example, "If you don't work on Thursday we will consider that your resignation."? I have been with this company for 2 years and have no other warnings/citations. I did NOT show up on "Thursday", and they reported that I had resigned. The problem is I never resigned and didn't send them a letter of resignation. They can tell me I'm fired, and I can say, "I quit, but they can't tell me that I quit. Am I right? Any thoughts? I forgot to mention that at least three other employees with less seniority than me have done the same thing and were not fired/assumed resigned. In one case no warning was even given.
i had an interview for a job yesterday? i may have to hand in a written notice that i am leaving my current job soon. i was wondering if anyone would have any advice/guidelines or a rough example of a suitable letter of resignation?
Micheal Moore wants these people arrested? Micheal Moore has a tendacey to leave out certain facts for the sake of his movies. http://www.boncherry.com/blog/2009/03/25/dear-aig-i-quit-a-real-resignation-letter-to-aig-ceo/ for example those resposible for AIGs downfall and where to find them
should i write a letter of comlaint to ex-employer CEO? I was laid-off by a non-proft organization. They of course offered me a part-time position so that I wouldnt be able to collect unemployment. I denied it. I was then called and asked to send a letter of resignation because i didnt accept the part time position (which i obviously didnt do). I am bothered by the non-proffesionalism of the diectors of this company an would like to send a letter of complain to the CEO of the company giving examples. Is this lawful? What would probably happen in return? Read more: http://www.justanswer.com/questions/2g90h-i-recently-got-off-from-a-commission-job-the-company#ixzz0kXzXi4H6
Advice on an unreasonable boss, and transfer of dept. I work for a company as an IT technician/consultant with a very unreasonable boss. I'll give you an example: I had knee surgury before and was still required to come into work less than 24 hours afterwards, and she was yelling at me about not doing anything, when I had already done everything that I could. I ended up switching some projects with co-workers (of the same level and title) so that they could do the stuff that I couldn't and vice versa, and she still ended up yelling at me saying that I wasn't doing anything or not doing what I was supposed to be doing. Anyway, I need help and/or advice. I recently quit my job, let's refer to it as job 1 and transferred to another department, job 2. The company that I work for can't do direct transfers so I needed to quit job 1 in order to be hired for job 2. So, I quit job 1, gave my unreasonable boss a 2 weeks notice, a typed resignation letter, talked to her about my transfer, and she became really mad about me leaving for another department. She said that I should of talked to her first about the transfer, and whether she approved of it or not. Afterwards, she threatened to go to upper management and tell them to not approve the transfer and therefore I would be out of a job. Also my boss has power to a certain extent because of her ties to the CITO (Chief information technology officer). Can she really do this without a valid reason besides the fact that she doesn't approve of me transferring? I feel that it is not her call whether I want to transfer departments or not. HELP, any advice would be great. One last thing to add, after our talk, she called and sent out an email to my soon to be new bosses at job 2. In it she kept ranting about how she does not approve of the transfer and that it is not right for her employees to just give her notice that they're either quiting or transferring without talking to her first and whether she approves of it. I feel that it is my choice to transfer or not and I should not need her approval. I followed protocol and gave her 2 weeks notice and everything. She also dropped specific names in the email, mainly mine. HELP, any advice would be great.
Can anyone give me advice on how to resign from a modeling agency? I signed with Model Productions in Lawrenceville, GA a year ago and received access to their casting board on their website. I've submitted my photos to the clients that were listed. I either got no response, unavailable e-mail and/or mailing addresses. From what I've found out about them as I looked them up on the Internet, the majority of people say they are not helpful in marketing models and talent at all because they only give them photos with one look, rather than a variety of looks. The bottom line is, they're not legitimate nor they are licensed by SAG. I'm looking forward to leaving them but can anyone provide me any examples of resignation letters to modeling agencies?
is he threatening me? pls heelpp! pls pls plssss? Yesterday (Friday) i really had a hard time at work. i work as a Distributor for 4 months. I distribute newspapers or other distribution assignments in different blocks from monday through friday. My boss said that if ever i have extra packs, i just leave it at the pick up place. I had 1 pack of newspapers for my customers and 2 packs advertising materials. Since it was to heavy to pull the trolley, I left one pack at the pick up so it's easier for me. when i was done at my first route (8 blocks), i went back to the pick up place, i met this other Distributor complaining and blaming me that I put one pack under his other packs. I did not do that. He told me that i always do that MANY TIMES. It's not true. Me and my boss has an agreement that if ever i have extra packs, i just leave it right there. im not gonna throw them or anything. we're not allowed to do that. and why should i throw em? i might get fired for doing that. when i came back to the pick up place, he yelled at me and scared me. he said that "hey why did u put ur pack under my packs? u have done this many times. I A M NOT A GOOD GUY U KNOW". When he said that "i am not a good guy" i was REAAALLY scared. he yelled at me like it was my fault and he did not even give me a chance to explain coz he kept on babbling for 5 mins. he said that he will gonna call our boss and then i said "Oh yea. call her, help yourself. i am not scared if she gonna talk to me." so i walked out and distributed 2 more packs. i was really scared after he talked and yelled at me and said he is not a good guy. what does it mean by now then? i feel so uncomfortable. and i dont want to work anymore and im afraid to go out since he said that he is not a good guy. maybe he will shoot me or kill me or kidnap me or anything that might happen. And also, i think it was last month or last Nov. 2008. When I checked my tolley, he put all his trashes and extra newspapers in my trolley. I wrote him a note and said that he should call our boss if he has extra packs and he not to do that next time. and if he wants to throw his trashes, not in my trolley but in his. and when i return at the pick up place, i think some1 read it- maybe it was him OR our boss. coz it moved to another place. the day after it happened, we met at the road. he drove a car and stop and looked at me like he wanna kill me, he looked at me like a murderer. i was soo freaking scared, i was sweating and shaking my hands and sooo nervous and my heart beat so fast. I don't know if im going to work next week coz i dont wanna go out anymore. he's f*cking scared me. I wanna quit this job right now. If i am going to submit my resignation letter, i have to work until the end of February. I CANT WAIT. I have to stay at home coz im scared. I am not sure if my boss or my employer will allow me to quit right away. It says at the Aftenposten website ( i am from Norway) that for example, that if the regional office receives your resignation letter on 5th September, you have to work up to and including 31 October. February is too long. i wanna stay at home. what will i do? is he threatening me verbally? honestly i am not comfortable anymore. now it's 8:15 am and i havent slept yet coz im so dead nervous and scared. i hope you guys can tell me and advice me or suggest me what i must do. Thank you so much for taking your time to read my questions. btw, im 21 female (with depression) and he's around 40's male
help! Please proofread my paper!? In the case “A Problem at the Housing Authority,” the author is introduced to several t-junctions in his new position as Executive Director of a County Housing Authority. The critical t-junctions involve a ring of corruption taking place amongst appointed government officials, and negligence and the misappropriation of state and federal dollars. Because the circumstances do not easily outweigh the individual’s response, the appointee is not sure how to respond. I believe that leaking is possibly is the best response to corruption encountered by the appointee. I would likely move out of the city, whistle blow, and then submit a resignation letter. This case study attempts to highlight the critical t-junctions while explaining why leaking would be the best solution to the aforementioned dilemma. Comparisons are created using “George Shultz and the Iran-Contra Affair” and “Agent Rowley Blows the Whistle” to illuminate each concept. The prospects of power are charming and seductive while its realities are often hidden by those who wish to maintain it. The first t-junction provides a clear example: here the author is appointed by a board of directors who are made up of financial contributors to the state governor's election campaign. This obviously represents a serious conflict in interest on the part of the governor and the appointed board members. The second t-junction makes clear that the board members, particularly the chairman of the board knowingly engaged in corrupt behavior. The third t-junction occurs when the author discovers that the board secures negotiations with a realty company owned by the chairmans cousins, and the fourth t-junction occurs when the appointee discovers his predecessor was the former campaign manager for the sitting governor. By this t-junction the appointee had an opportunity to distance himself from the corruption by explicitly rejecting such behavior but did not do so out of fear of his own safety. Each t-junction helped to explain a host of additional corruptions (t-junctions) taking place including: the hiring of a resident to monitor the appointee's home; the chairman of the board unsuccessful attempt to sale the appointee a house at an obscenely low price, and the overall negligence taking place within the organization (the organization was on the verge of bankruptcy when the author was originally appointed). The seductive and charming aspects of power led the author to accept a position before doing his homework. This led him to a world of politics characterized by corruption, negligence and nepotism. My opinion is that that the appointee made a wise decision by consulting with a lawyer and considering all of his options, including the risk of personal social, and professional endangerment. Based on the options discussed with the attorney, Leaking appears to be the appointee's best option. Walking away would have forced the appointee to compromise his moral values and whist blowing could compromise his safety and future career in politics. In the beginning of the text the appointee makes clear that confrontation is not his style, and discussion may not have been a considerable option since he did not know which board members were involved. Leaking is clearly the best option here. The chairman already knew that the appointee was aware of the various scandals taking place. The appointee had the option of sending anonymous letters to local and state representatives revealing his findings. The appointee also had the option to meet personally with an elected official who could champion the matter which may have led him into the clear. His safest option would be to find a different place to work in order to safe guard his personal safety. It is important that the appointee stay true to himself by maintaining his prior level of integrity. The author must be careful to not allow his circumstances to champion his personal credibility. Agent Rowly and George Slutz blew the whistle for different reason. Rowley blew the whistle to bring attention to deficiencies with the FBI while Slutz made public statements in order to disassociate himself from the Iran-Contra affair. While it is true that Rowley and Slutz each had over 15 years of experience in their perspective fields, each found a way to maintain their level of individual responsibility. The appointee must find a creative solution for maintaining his individual level of responsibility. He must understand, most importantly, that there are no definitive solutions. He must be prepared to win and lose no matter what the results may be. I have a series of essay questions so i need all the help i can get. If there is a website where i can have my papers proofread, please let me know! Leaking is anonoumosly reporting info. to the media. whistle blowing is reporting to a higher official/ may also be seen as tattle telling.

breaking company service bond and leaving without serving notice period? I am an IT Professional currently associated with a very big IT Company in mumbai. I joined this company in January 2008 with a service bond of 2 years which implies that my bond ends in January 2010 out of which i have completed 19.5 months. Bond amount is 2 lakhs and notice period is 3 months. Also need to tell you that when i signed my Bond paper, the i saw the actual typed date in Bond was 14th January 2007 which was changed manually by using cutting with pen and no sign was taken there from us which i guess makes the bond invalid. Neways i am frustated working in that company as they treat us like school students with their stupid HR policies like paying 2rs for coffee, no coffee breaks allowed, for canteen for refreshments, our team leader always threatening to use her power to get me out of the company since i complained about her discriminational behaviour, etc. More importantly i dont see any career growth anymore in this company. Also now i have got a very good opportunity with better pay and profile in another company which has agreed to accept me without relieving letter also. i have already told my new company about my existing Bond. but they cant wait till the end of bond period and want me to join before october 15th. i can right away leave current company , but the only thing stopping me is my Performance bonus which is variable component of my salary structure and varies from 0 Rs. to 72,500/- Rs. This performance pay for my work during financial year 2008-2009 is due uptil now. This performance pay which should be actually declared after end of every financial year (April) is usually declared very late in current company , around september or october month which is yet another example of bad HR Policy. My salary day lies between 7-10th of every month. If they declare PP (Performance Pay) this month then i'll resign immediately after getting it in hand. But if they dont declare this month, then i cant put my resignation and serve notice period as they will then not give any performance pay to me which is my right to get as is it pay for financial year 2008-2009 but they may say that i didnt perform well and so no performance pay. so i have decided not to disclose my plan of quitting company untill my performance pay is declared. If it is declared in month of october which will be given before 10th october then i wont have time for serving the notice period as i need to join new company any how on or before 1st october. In this case, i'll loose my PP. In case, i dont get PP in this months salary, i will put resignation after decalaration of my next salary between 8-10th october. My actual plan is to go on leave in current company by communicating the same verbally and not putting and actual application for leave. i will not go to office from 1st october and will instead join new company on 1st october 2009. After getting my salary for month of september 2009 in between 7-10th october, i will send them a resignation letter by registered post effective from 1st october 2009 stating the reason of resignation as plan to go for full time MBA course which needs full time study for clearing entrance exams. In this case i wont be able to serve any notice period in my old company. Now my queries are, 1) do i need to go to company and manually submit the resignation letter to HR or is it ok for me to do the same by email or by post? 2) Isnt their bond invalid now due to change done in date by them without taking my sign against it? 3) Can i claim my PP for financial year 2008-2009 (variable pay) after my resignation? 4) what if i dont wish to serve them notice period of more than a day? 5) My salary has LTA amount of 1000 Rs/- per month i.e. 12000/- per year which is given at the end of a calendar year. Since i'll be leaving in month of october, my LTA earning amount is atleast 9000/-. Can i claim this partial amount of LTA from company after my resignation? 6) Also i came to know that i need to fill some form for PF account closure. do i need to get this form from my current company only or i can get this form from other sources as well ? i dont wish to pay any compensation to company for not serving my notice period, so can a company hold my PF account in lieu of not serving notice period? 7) if i need some kind of approval from HR for getting my PF account closed and my current company is not willing to co-operate, then can i still close my PF account and get the money? I heard something about acceptance of resignation? Is it necessary for me to get resignation acceptance sign from MY current Company HR? 8) How can i avoid paying 3 months consolidated salary in lieu of notice period? i dont wish to pay them anything as this company is really a mental torture to me. Please try to clear all my doubts as i m now going to take a very major decision
Is Obama dropping the ball in Afghanistan? WASHINGTON -- A former Marine who fought in Iraq, joined the State Department after leaving the military and was a diplomat in a Taliban stronghold in Afghanistan has become the first U.S. official to resign in protest of the Afghan war, the Washington Post reported early Tuesday. Matthew Hoh, who describes himself as "not some peacenik, pot-smoking hippie who wants everyone to be in love," said he believes the war is simply fueling the insurgency. "I have lost understanding of and confidence in the strategic purposes of the United States' presence in Afghanistan," Hoh wrote in his resignation letter, dated Sept. 10 but published early Tuesday. "I have doubts and reservations about our current strategy and planned future strategy, but my resignation is based not upon how we are pursuing this war, but why and to what end." The move sent ripples all the way to the White House, the paper said, where officials immediately appealed for him to stay out of fear he could become a leading critic. U.S. Ambassador Karl Eikenberry brought him to Kabul and offered him a job on his senior embassy staff, but Hoh declined. He then flew home and met with Richard Holbrooke, the administration's special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan. Holbrooke told the Post he disagreed that the war "wasn't worth the fight," but did agree with much of Hoh's analysis. "We took his letter very seriously, because he was a good officer," Holbrooke said in an interview with the newspaper. "We all thought that given how serious his letter was, how much commitment there was, and his prior track record, we should pay close attention to him." The revelation comes as President Obama pledged on Monday not to "rush the solemn decision" to send more troops to battle in Afghanistan as he weighs military options on what to do next in the troubled war. The administration is debating whether to send tens of thousands more troops to the country, while the Afghan government is moving to hold a Nov. 7 runoff election between President Hamid Karzai and challenger Abdullah Abdullah. The runoff comes after complaints by international monitors of fraudulent voting in the first election. ABC News, citing unnamed sources, reported Monday evening that Obama will likely announce his decision for Afghanistan between that nation's runoff presidential election on Nov. 7, and the president's departure for Tokyo, Japan, on Nov. 11. "I won't risk your lives unless it is absolutely necessary," Obama told service men and women at Naval Air Station Jacksonville on Monday. He promised a "clear mission" with defined goals and the equipment needed to get the job done. Obama, who is in the process of weighing options put forward by the Pentagon that include various levels of increased troops, spoke of the latest example of the dangers and sacrifices there -- helicopter crashes that killed 14 Americans in the deadliest day for the U.S. mission in Afghanistan in more than four years.
How to quit my job without complying to notice period and still get paid my annual leave? The Good news is that I got the job! Now I need to resign to my current job. By contract I suppose to provide 4 weeks notice My new employer really needs me to start in 2 weeks more from now I have 28 accrued days of annual leave So what happens if I resign and provide 2 weeks notice? Will then the company absorb the annual leave and wont pay me for it? What can I do? Option 1 Place an annual leave request for the 2 last weeks and else my resignation letter? Option 2 Should I better just lie, and therefore appeal to human mercy. Just saying that I really need to fly to USA as my grandmother is unwell in hospital? This by providing resignation letter straitgh away? (Personally... I really dislike lying... but if needed I would just go for it) Option 3 Just tell the whole truth to my mannager and then see what they tell me? Now this is risky because if they don't agree, I would be losing all the money of my annual leave I think Because if they refuse, I have no chance but not to come to work those last 2 weeks, therefore no money on my account as they wont pay me and take my annual leave as a compensation for the lost of productivity Please suggest me what to do. PLEASE HELP!!! Please if you answer stay within the margins, I mean, for example... dont tell me to stay 4 weeks more in this job because I wont and I just can't wait that long, I want solutions please!
Why can't I stand up for myself? And how do I start doing that? A perfect example is my job. I am a student and working part time. College starts back in 3 weeks and I really need the time to focus on my studies. I made a decision two weeks ago to give my notice and leave my job. For my situation, school and a job are too much for me. I work a lot of hours as it is and with the classes I will be taking this coming semester, the more time I have to study, the better. I wrote my boss a nice resignation letter and left it on her desk for her. When she read it, she was upset that I would be quitting. I love my job and don't want to leave it, but for me, school is more important. She and I worked out an agreement where I would become an "occasional" employee or on-call status. I was okay with that. I thought it meant more flexibility with working hours, which would allow the time I need to devote to my classes. I was so relieved. August 28th was supposed to be my last day as a regular employee. Today she calls me and asks if I want to work the week after that. I told her yes, because I thought she only needs me one or two days. Before I knew it, I am now scheduled a regular week that week. This is all because I can't say no to people. I am always willing to do what I can to help. I am afraid to say no to people because if I do, it'll leave them hanging or I'll somehow get into trouble, like getting fired, for example. I am afraid to ask for what I want or need. Instead I let people walk all over me, or I try to do things myself because I don't like to ask for help. I don't know how to speak up. I am not assertive by any means. I need to learn how to stand up for myself. If i cannot work some of the hours she needs me to, I need to tell her that. Or if I need help with something, I often won't ask for it. It isn't just work. It's with my friends and family, too. I always seem to do things for everyone else. I don't have kids, so that's not an issue. But I seem to do everything other people want me to do. I am too nice. I'm too willing. How do I put my foot down and speak up for myself?
unemployment insurance or not? Here is my situation. I found out secretly they were going to fire me on Monday when I walk in. Management saying I was late and was not happy w/ performance which I totally disagree with him. He didn't have any solid detail or example to back it up so I felt i was being mistreated or felt like a scapegoat to save the company money. I just email them resignation letter on Sunday. I told them i had to care for sick child and father in law who had surgery and need home rest for 6 month. Will I get unemployment if I file? What should I say since they were going to fire me or just say volunteer quit due to family health? Thanks for your comment
Tell me about your life at this momeny in time? So, I'm sitting here thinking about all the things in life I want to achieve, all the goals I have for this year. All the things I want to accomplish. So I'm interested in everyone elses lives. Tell me about your life, your dreams, your to-do lists. Your wishlists. Think of it as an offloading journal entry to yourself & the world wide internets! Here's an example of mine. Right now I am trying to study. I have an exam in two days, I've already had one which I think I'll have to repeat the paper next year. I've got one in five days which I really want to pass & I think I'm somewhat motivated to study for it. I'm worried about the possiblity of losing my job. My partner and I work at the same parttime job & ever since the store manager has found out we're dating he's made our lives hell. My partners handing in his resignation letter and I feel bad for him, it shouldn't have come to this, but he's had enough. Right now I'm loving my partner, Matt. It's our four month anniversary today, I got him a heart shaped chocolate wrapped in blue foil (his favourite color) with a blue rose decorating it. We agreed to only get something small & I'm all about cute small cheesy gifts. I'm taking him to his favourite restraunt Nandos for lunch/dinner on Thursday then we're going to watch Saw V, he hates horror movies which is why it's such an honor that he has agreed to go with me! I've purcahased, lately I've bought two main things, I really have to stop buying. I bought a new cellphone as mine broke: Here's my new one which is being shipped in two days! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Mobile-phones/Vodafone-network/Other/photos/a-184590802/p-76252999.htm Then I also bought this little guy, just to cheer myself up. http://www.strapya-world.com/products/17134.html I collect cute japanese toys, I think they're gorgeous. I'm looking foward to, going to the hospital today to visit my grandma after her hip operation, I havn't seen her in so long. I'm also looking foward to going away with Matt on Saturday, we're going camping for two weeks to celebrate his 18th. I'm currently addicted to http://www.etsy.com/ which has provided the inspiration I need to start making cute things out of polymer clay and selling them. It's my goal to have my own creations for sale online. Another one of my e-goals is to create a livejournal and actually blog in it! I think I'd need to make it extra cute to keep the inspiration to blog alive. I'm looking foward to christmas, but I'm worried about debt. On my christmas wishlist is: To get my hair dyed bright blonde. http://myemohairstyles.com/images/white%20blonde.JPG An ipod. I really like this one: http://www.bid4optics.com/shop/images/New%20Apple%20iPod%20nano%208GB%20green.jpg Even though Matt said I can have his ipod shuffle that he never uses, that would be just as good of a present! These cuties for my ipod: http://shanalogic.com/item.php?item_id=974&category_id=95 So share with me yours!
Should I quit my Fed Govt Job? I started working my first government job 2 years ago and it’s in a position I thought I would enjoy when I first started - or at least tolerate until i found a better one but now I hate it. I went for a job interview a year ago and wasn't hired and I applied for a position at the FBI I thought would work out but they decided not to hire no one. I also feel like it's less about the job work and more about the people I’m working with. For example: my supervisor(s) for the most part give me a hard time and expect me to remember everything at once. The position also changes constantly to include rediculous duties such as: reception work, inventory, etc. I’ve already addressed my concerns with family and thought about writing a resignation letter to just begin the process. I'm not really learning anything new in the position mainly because it's an office assistant position. The money is great, but for me it really isn’t worth the time and effort. Everyone tells me I should hang in there and just keep applying for another job. BUT I HATE MY F&*king JOB! I am the only guy at my job. Should I resign?
I need opinions on how to deal with quitting my job? Here's my dilemma: My job right now is crazy. I work in a salon with the owner and 6 other girls. One of the girls is the owners ex-girlfriend whom he obviously favors completely. He's basically her puppet. She tells him something and he makes sure it happens. Example: She likes to rush through clients (quantity not quality) and a client had called in to complain and say that she needed it redone. I was off that day and my boss asked one of the other girls if she would do it. She agreed if she was able to get paid for it (we get paid commission). He told her that she would have to re-do the cut without charging the client, so she refused. He then told her that he would just let me do it. He called me the next day to let me know that one of his clients was coming in and I needed to "take care of her" but "don't charge her". Thankfully, the woman had called earlier that morning to say that she wouldn't be able to make it. Well, now the rumor has it that he's wanting to fire me, and my last day is Sunday. I was planning on putting in a resignation letter tomorrow because of a better job offer. But now with all this new drama I don't know if I should give him the respect and deal with more crap until I'm done for good. So bottom line: Should I put in a 2 weeks notice or just let him know I'm out? Would it be inappropriate to put in a couple days notice? Because I have another job waiting for me to start.
What is your opinion on this news? At the first look this news looks like any other political news, but when I read this news very closely, I realized that moral in politics is not dead yet. There was a gun fight in a village near Gwalior, where accuses were the kin of MP health minister Anoop Mishra. Mr. Mishra decided to quite from his position as per his resignation letter he thinks that he has no moral rights to remain on the position when his kins are accused to be involved in murders. And will fight for justice. At once one may think that this is just a political stunt but I cannot forget that he has Mr. Atal Bihari Vajapayee's blood in him, he is Mr. Vajapayee's nephew. It could the moral of Mr. Vajapayee that is speaking inside Mr. Mishara. And that is why in-spite of several ministers remain in the cabinet with corruption and criminal charges in MP cabinet, Mr. Mishra decided to quit. On the other side some newspaper reports say, because Mr. Mishra has reach up to the top leadership of BJP including Mr. Advani, Ms Swaraj, and was seen as potential candidate of CM of MP, some RSS supported leaders pressurized Mr. Gadakari, and that is why Mr. Mishra was forced to resign. My opinion goes with the first theory, because I still believe that morality is not completely not dead in politics and Mr. Vajapayee's keen can present such examples. What is your opinion? http://www.hindustantimes.com/MP-minister-quits-over-murder-charge-against-kin/Article1-566677.aspx http://sify.com/news/vajpayee-s-kin-resigns-from-madhya-pradesh-cabinet-news-national-khcvEdcgdcb.html @ Vijay D, how long you have been on this forum? Or what it a joke, that " MS happen to be a BJP supporter"? If anyone who still stands against BJP and RSS continuously that is me, my friends like ap, and others take off often, but my support for Congress is not blind support and same is opposition for BJP. And one more thing, personal remarks on this forum are NOT appreciated. @ Vijay D, Mr. Vajapayee is a good person, and I respect him for his moral values. He was never heard for his political views in his own party. And that is a fact. I have never said that he was a good politician.
